Wedding Photoshoot Ideas We Love

Wedding photographers are hired to capture the special moments of your wedding days ceremony and reception, however there also comes a time in the day for you to go off on your own with the photographer and take your more orchestrated pictures as newly weds. It’s in this time that you have the opportunity to be more creative!

Your wedding day can often become a very stressful day and the time will fly by - but taking these photos on the day of the ceremony is not always a necessity. In this post we’ve gathered our favourite wedding photoshoot ideas that our very own real brides have sent in to us!

Bring your pets and dress them up!

Include your pets in the bridal party! To ensure they look as polished as the bridal party, coordinate their attire to something that fits with others in the pictures such as the bride, groom or bridesmaids. Real bride Gracie has coordinated little bow ties on her dogs collars with her partners suit. So fun and cute!

Bring your wedding dress to your honeymoon!

If you are having your wedding locally but you’re jumping on a plane heading somewhere exotic for your honeymoon, what’s stopping you from packing your dress? Hire a photographer while you’re there and re-live the day without the stress!

Our recent real bride Kelsey told us "I would highly recommend bringing your wedding dress to your honeymoon, hiring a photographer and reliving the day all over again. After deciding a first look wasn't for us, I was nervous we weren't going to have enough time for pictures so I hired a photographer in Positano, rented a vintage car and did a sunrise shoot that truly captured another unbelievable memory."

Consider your location!

If your wedding pictures are something you’d like to plan a lot for, why not look into somewhere unique?

Some of our suggestions are:

  • Movie theatre

  • Aquarium

  • Hedge maze

  • Roaming the city streets

Is there something you and your partner both really love? What bought you together? Consider finding a location that incapsulates that!

We’re obsessed with the cinematic wedding pictures our real bride Rebekah recently sent in. This couple hired a photographer to shoot their photos at Universal Studios, making Rebekah and her husband look like main characters straight out of a classic Hollywood film! So cool!

The Veil Toss

This ones for the artsy girls - Try some shots with your veil flowing in the air. Throw it up, spin around, run with it - just have some fun! You may need an assistant to help you throw it up for you and quickly run out of the frame.

You can even try taking photos through your veil, under it and wrapped around it… The possibilities are endless…

Playing with different ways to utilise the veil is guaranteed to make the photographer have an even greater time too, trust us!

Pop the Champagne

For the wild bride (or maybe any bride after a few drinks). Pop a champagne bottle open, let it fizz and scull it while kneeling down low. Have your grooms and bridesmaids surrounding you - you and their reaction makes for one epic photo filled with so much joy to be remembered forever.

Our real bride Michelle shows you how it’s done!

Mums Helping Hand

To send this blog off, we have a photo idea that is sent in by so many of our real brides.

For this photo, have your mum or someone who is really important to you help do up your dress. This intimate moment always makes for such a beautiful photo.
