WHY THE FLOWERS?

the history of wedding flowers

In ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome herbs and fragrant foliage were used to create bridal bouquets and garlands. Each plant was selected because of their symbolic purposes and to either honour deities or ward off evil spirits. Throughout the Middle Ages, the tradition was continued and evolved to add decorative and symbolic florals - shaping the modern day use of flowers in weddings.
